If you cross the Nile from Luxor city to the West Bank by public ferry or motorboat, one building certainly catches your eye: the building with the friendly orange painted facade and white colored windows, crowned by a roof terrace.

It is the "Nile Valley Hotel and Restaurant" that draws you by its
exterior. Even before you enter you gain the impression of comfort and coziness.

Why is this? Without doubt because of the owners and managers Hamada and Karin Khalifa, who have many years' experience in the tourism business..

With the "Nile Valley Hotel and Restaurant" the couple have made their dream come true. Together they have created a special place, where dreams can also come true for others.

In the meantime still another dream came true. In January 2004 their first daughter, Nadia, was born while in October 2006 their happiness and family were complete when they were blessed with a second daughter, Jasmin.

But the couple had to follow a stony path indeed to reach their goal and attain their place in the strongly contested area of tourism. It took them three years for their dream to become reality; three very hard years when they invested many Egyptian Pounds. However, the result is something to be proud of.

Between flowers and bushes, a smartly tiled entrance leads you inside. A staircase leads you to the roof-terrace, which is the center of the hotel. In 2009 we installed the elevator that will bring you from the reception to the roof top restaurant.

From the top of the building you can enjoy a panoramic, breathtaking view. On one side the Nile, with Luxor City and Luxor Temple. This is particularly striking at night when the East Bank is shimmering with its illuminations, and guests, who are sitting at tables or on typical Egyptian benches with a Sheesha (water pipe) and coffee, will become dreamers and seem to lose themselves somewhere between the past and present.

The pool bar and the air conditioned café-restaurant “The Grill room” were Hamada’s idea.

Dutch Karin pins the "blame" for this successful idea on her husband. An idea which seems to bear fruit in this beautiful little hotel and restaurant. More and more individual tourists ask for rooms, whereas some guests have already made their reservations for their next vacation.

Guests call in daily for a snack, lunch or dinner and in
addition tour leaders like to bring their groups here for meals. "We hope we can establish ourselves with this idea" says Hamada, who is pleased about the rising number of reservations and inquiries for next season

Karin has ten years' hotel experience in Germany, Holland and Switzerland, whilst Hamada had his own hotel in Hurghada and has also worked as a French language tour guide. They opened the "Nile Valley Hotel" on 22 October 2001.

At first, Karin and Hamada ran only a restaurant, but it is now a hotel
with 20 rooms and 1 apartment . Every room has en suite facilities, as well as air conditioning, ceiling fans, refrigerator, TV(sat. channels) and is practically equipped with wooden furniture in friendly, light colors. Most rooms have a Nile view, whilst the others have a pool view.

Single beds or a double bed are available on request, as a baby bed . The budget room is the same size as the standard room. They have their own bathroom with bath and WC, which are however adjacent to the rooms. Each "budget" room is equipped with an air conditioning system, TV (Sat-programs) and with a refrigerator. These rooms you find on the first floor of the hotel. The apartment has 1 bedroom with 2 beds, television and air conditioning, bathroom with bath and toilet, sitting area with big window to the garden and swimming pool, television and extra bed/coach, open kitchen area with refrigerator, cooking device, water cooker etc.

In addition to the view from the terrace and the pleasant atmosphere,
there is a kitchen with three experienced chefs, Mahmoud, Hasham and Mohamed, who ensure a high standard of cuisine. On the menu you find typical Egyptian meals like shish kebab and kebab hala, grilled or stuffed pigeons, steak, mixed grill and a daily set menu with three courses according to the fresh produce offered by the local market.

All meals are served with pommes carrees, French fries or mixed
vegetables. In addition there are pizza and spaghetti, moussaka with meat or vegetarian, complete vegetarian dishes, Egyptian salads or soups (vegetable, tomato, onion, lentil, chicken, noodle or vermicelli).

Groups are offered a good selection of dishes in the lunch and dinner buffets. Hotel guests get a continental breakfast, or an Oriental one if preferred.

We can arrange anything: diabetic or vegetarian meals and special menus for groups or parties on the terrace.

Nile Valley can organize trips, travel guides, and boat trips in its own
motor boat.We also arrange the collection/transfer of guests to and
from the airport or Luxor train station so that your arrival at the hotel is without worry.

The roof terrace restaurant is a great place to enjoy your meals.

Air conditioned Café-restaurant.
In summer time it gives you the possibility to have a coffee or a meal in an air conditioned room, in winter time it gives you the chance to run from the cold on the chilly evenings.
It is possible to order the menu on the terrace of the swimming pool.

The swimming pool was one of the things Hamada and Karin dreamt about it was finished in the summer of 2007.
It is 14.5 meters long and 4.5 meters wide with several depths a Jacuzzi and kids pool.
The pool bar and the 4 seats give you the chance to feel luxury pure, enjoying your cold beer or nice cocktail while sitting in the swimming pool. Off course there are sun beds and sunscreens.
